Step 1: Verify Your License Expiry Date
- Check the expiration date on your FCC-issued amateur radio license. Licenses are valid for 10 years from the issue date.
- The FCC allows you to renew your license 90 days before it expires.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Information
Before starting the renewal process, have the following information ready:
- Your FCC Registration Number (FRN).
- Your account login credentials for the FCC Universal Licensing System (ULS).
- A valid email address (required for FCC notifications).
Step 3: Access the FCC Universal Licensing System (ULS)
- Go to the FCC ULS website: https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsEntry/licManager/login.jsp.
- Log in using your FRN and password.
- If you’ve forgotten your FRN, use the FRN search tool.
- If you’ve forgotten your password, use the Reset Password feature.
Step 4: Initiate the Renewal
- After logging in, click on the “My Licenses” tab.
